PES University is a private university in Bengaluru, established as a university in 2013 under the PES University Act, 2012 (Karnataka Act 16 of 2013). Its engineering programmes trace back to 1988, when the institution operated as PES Institute of Technology (PESIT) before attaining university status.

The university operates several campuses in Bengaluru — the main Ring Road Campus at Banashankari 3rd Stage, the Electronic City Campus on Hosur Road, and the Hanumanth Nagar Campus at Banashankari 1st Stage. As a university, PES is autonomous and awards its own degrees rather than being affiliated to VTU.

Admission Process

Important: PES University is not a COMEDK member institution. B.Tech admission is not available through COMEDK UGET. Additionally, PESSAT has been discontinued for B.Tech from the 2026–27 academic year — a JEE Main or KCET score is now required.
  • KCET Route: Take the KCET entrance test and attend the Karnataka government counselling process
  • PESU Merit Quota: Register at admissions.pes.edu using a JEE Main or KCET score and take part in the university's own counselling
  • Management Quota (higher fee category): Seats booked directly through the PES Office of Admissions

Eligibility & Entrance Exams

  • 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry at 10+2 or equivalent, from a recognised board
  • Valid JEE Main or KCET score (PESSAT is no longer accepted for B.Tech)
  • NRI, foreign, sponsored, OCI and PIO categories are handled directly by the Office of Admissions

Placement Highlights

PES University runs one of the more actively recruited engineering campuses in Bengaluru, with a dedicated placement office and a recruiter list spanning global product companies, financial services and consulting firms. Computer Science and AI & ML branches consistently draw the widest recruiter interest.

We have deliberately not published headline salary figures on this page. PES University's official placement statistics are released through its annual Placement Brochure, and the figures circulating on third-party listing sites vary widely and disagree with one another. For current, verified numbers, please refer to the university's own placement brochure or speak with our consultants.

Placement Process & Training Support

PES University prepares students for recruitment through aptitude training, coding practice, group discussions, mock interviews and resume-building support, typically beginning well before the final-year placement season.

Recruitment runs through on-campus drives as well as off-campus and pool drives coordinated by the placement office. Internships are a significant route into full-time roles, with a number converting into pre-placement offers.

Actual outcomes depend on branch, individual performance and the year's hiring climate — no placement figure should be read as a guarantee. LS Consultancy Services can help you weigh PES University against other Bangalore engineering options so you can make a well-informed admission decision.
